I have received a letter from UBI Payment Services, that says I am guaranteed to receive $5,000.00 if…., and is dated “September 11″, thats a little creepy! I quickly spotted “Singapore” on the sending envelope, and “Australia” on the return envelope. They begin by saying “This is a very important statement”, I think of a statement as a bill I pay, unless it says Credit Statement, so my first question is “how much is this going to cost me?”. I do not see the word credit anywhere! As for the puzzle of skill…lol…20+5= 25 21 23 hmmm lets see hmmm…insult! Oh, and why do they require my signature? Ahh…sign to agree to let them send me alot of unwanted junk mail, thats what they are saying inĀ not so fine print on the back of letter, but very, very faint print on the back of the letter. It is so faint you hardly notice it’s there. Yes, this has SCAM written all over it!!!

Thank you very much for that magnificent article
Thanks HenleyL! I Post as often as my time allows me, and I tend to post on a variety of different subjects. Like it’s name Brief Remarks, during busy day’s.
Hey, I really enjoy your blog. I have a blog too in a totally unrelated field (Online Stock Trading) but I like to check in here on a regular basis, just to see what’s going on and it’s always interesting to say the least. It’s always entertaining what people have to say.
What is the goodest to begin own blog by free?
Lte’s begin to understand over words..
What do you believe about this journal?
Verdy life post, rewpect to author!
You msut explorre Google and you find much useful by this topic
You are so great author, your post is very amazing!
today is dec. 04, 2008 and i jsut received the same letter in mail and it just goes to show how stupid people are in this world and that they have nothing better to do with there time. anyone in there right mine wouldn’t give out any information or sign there name on the dotted line with this paper. if a person is to win any money of any type i’m sure that the post matter will bring a certerified letter
to your front dooor. this letter will be place in the police department hand and hopefully they will catch the people who is behind this. remember your personal information is your business and your singature is your too. and both can be easily copied and use.
I received one of these letters as well. What really stood out to me, well actually it peeked out since the writing on the back was so faint you could hardly read it, was that to get the $5,000.00 you have to not only complete the tests but if you win the final tiebreaker you have to send a copy of your passport or identification to the Sponsor in order to confirm your age and such. I am not about to show my identification to anyone unless they are actually at my door, cash in hand, ready to turn it over and all I have to do is show that I am over 18 years of age. Sending a copy of your personal identification can only lead to people finding out more about you so that they can hack into any bank accounts or anything else you might have.
I threw the letter away. No one is going to get all my information this way. I advise everyone else who received the letter to throw it away like I did.
Hi. I received my letter from UBI over the weekend and knew that something was awry the moment i read it. Yes! the faint print on the back of the letter is barely noticeable and binds you to some ‘contract’ by signing the letter. Even worse, to stop receiving these types of letters from them, you still have to contact them by letter, which just confirms the address that they have for you. I say ’shred those letters’. I just did.
Well it sounds to me like the best way to win that game is NOT TO PLAY! Great information Angela, thank you.
The companies name is actually UBISOFT and it has locations in 21 different companies worldwide, including Australia and Singapore. It is a gaming company and UBI is a game of trivia or skill. The trivia tiebreakers will get harder and harder until you are unable to answer them and of course, you won’t win anything. You will get a lot of unsolicited offers and promotions from companies they share info with.
Welcome! Tommie, tweetyb, george keehn, and AprilShowers. I see I am not the only one to receive this junk mail. I have stopped a lot of the email junk mail I was receiving. Boy was that a lot of mail! Not too much comes by way of snail mail anymore.
What I really dislike is all the phone calls that have been flooding in…buy this, buy that, you have won this, and who are you voting for? Most of these calls are recordings, and many are saying “this is your second notice”. Really if I want to buy something I usually will go and get it from whome I choose.
Thanks everyone,
Tree
I am so glad being overseas I don’t get any junk mail! Although in 279 Days and I will…lol.
I got 1 of these too on thursday.
I just received that same letter today. Just think about it ,the way economy is right now, these people have all these 5,000 checks to give out. Think about it,Why don’t they do like the President did with the stimulus checks. Just send us all a 5,000 dollars check. This is a SCRAM.
I just got that same letter in the mail today! thanks for your comment. Yeah the print on the back is obviously written so you wouldn’t notice it, I didn’t. at a glance it just looks like your seeing the print on the other side of the page through the paper. There are so many scams out there, I wouldn’t trust anybody! nobody’s goin to just give away $5,000 anyway. I figured they just wanted my signiture so they can forge it for something else, I don’t know but I know they aint gettn it! thanks to the internet most scams are uncovered pretty quick thanks again
