When picking out produce to purchase, it is a good idea to not only check color and firmness but check the little sticker too.
Here’s what you should look for:
• A four-digit number means the produce is conventionally grown
• A five-digit number beginning with 9 means it’s organic
• A five-digit number beginning with 8 means it’s GM (Genetically Modified)
The more I read about GM the more I really want to grow my own food, which is being threatened because of the shortage of bees. I think it’s the GM that is causing the shortage of bees. I think the bees collecting the pollen from the Genetically Modified plants are unable to reproduce just like the GM plants they are collecting from. A Very Vicious Cycle!
