2009 Swine Flu, A H1N1 Virus

The virus with many names is making it’s way around the world and causing much alarm and receiving much attention. First called swine influenza (Flu) and now referred to as swine influenza A H1N1 virus.

The CDC say’s they will provide updated guidance and new information as it becomes available at this link   CDC

As of April 29, 2009 the CDC report shows that ten U.S. states have confirmed cases of A H1N1 virus, a total of 91 cases and 1 death.

WHO reports that seven counties have confirmed cases with no deaths and Mexico confirmed case of 26 including seven deaths.

  • I saw on the news this morning that some scientists are saying the flu shouldn’t be called the Swine Influenza, because it doesn’t seem to be the pigs who had it.
    I also heard that the Swine Flu is one level away from becoming a pandemic. That’s a little freaky don’t you think?
    Scientists and doctors are saying that the best way to avoid it is to wash your hands frequently. Plus, don’t travel to Mexico for the next month or so.
